The Build-A-Bed Project
Making a Comfy Change
The Build-A-Bed Project focuses on creating lasting steel-framed beds for the City of Mexico Animal Shelter dogs! We will begin building the beds July of 2026 and hope to see all 33 beds completed and installed by early Fall 2026.
This endeavor would not have been possible without the generosity of our individual and business sponsors. To show our gratitude and immortalize their contribution, there will be a banner at the shelter displaying the names of those who helped make this imperative and fantastic change possible!
The 'Grate' Idea
Enrichment for all!
The 'Grate' Idea is another project to improve the local City of Mexico Animal Shelter. Because of the open-trough drains in the dog kennels, the dogs are unable to have enrichment items (toys, lick mats, blankets, etc), as these items can clog the trough drain. To remedy this issue and get the dogs the enrichment items they need, our program is designing and fabricating grates for the troughs. By placing grates in the troughs, it covers the trough but still allows for the kennels to be cleaned effectively. This endeavor is projected for late Fall or Winter in 2026! Stay tuned for updates!
